đź’» Dev List Weekly Roundup - 1/22/25

Hey all, Alec from Dev List here.

A lot of high paying software jobs we collected this week. Especially from Anthropic (who just raised $1B from google 🤯).

Here’s the list:

🔍 Industry Pulse: Backend

If you’re just looking for a software job. Backend is a great place to start. Since we started analyzing data, backend has consistently been the most posted job types.

Here are some more juicy insights:

1. AWS is the cloud skill to know

AWS was the most mentioned skill among all backend jobs. A lot of jobs require at least basic knowledge of cloud tech, and AWS is the one to learn if you want to raise your hiring chances.

2. Higher pay than Frontend, but less than Fullstack

Backend is paying more than Frontend and Mobile jobs atm. But Fullstack jobs are higher. So if you’re a frontend engineer, consider learning some basic backend to raise your salary!

3. Big salary jumps as you get more experienced (duh)

Yes, more experience = more money (I came up with this formula myself). But the jumps are pretty staggering.

Going from Junior (0-2 years) to Intermediate (3-10 years), the average salary jumps from $83k to $151k (+82%). And increases up to $212k (+40%) when you reach Expert level (10+ years). TL;DR keep climbing!
